Last week we had another "personal development and coaching skills training," with our Health Check Team from Simple Check. The focus was on the role our Health Check Team experts have at the time of a health check.

More than 1,700 companies went before you. It's that simple. Check.
The background of our team is very diverse. For example, some are trained as dietitians, but also as physical therapists or nurses. The overlap is mostly in the fact that they all want to care from a social motive. They like to help and advise. This behavior is very visible in all employees of the Health Check team. On a test day, they see many different people. All people with their own story. For example, they often hear stories related to a high workload. And they get many questions about a healthy lifestyle. How can I make sure I get enough exercise at work? And how do I make sure I have a healthy lunch? But employees also get questions from fear. For example, about what long-term damage high blood pressure can do and how do I make sure I stay healthy?
Experience shows that as soon as people get on the bus with us they naturally have a moment of awareness. As if someone is holding up a mirror to them. Which, of course, is true. The health check is actually nothing more than a mirror that provides insight into your mental and physical health. And our health check employees are an extension of that. The mirror is mainly about how healthy people themselves think they are and what they can improve. During the health check it is not always possible to answer all the questions completely. It is often a combination of knowledge and individual situations. In other words, it's about customization.
"I have now attended about 3 training sessions at Simple Check. During these trainings we work according to the DISC method; this helps me enormously to gain insight into myself but also into others. This way we learn, in combination with for example a role play, what your attitude can bring about in another person. I find this very interesting. Not only in my work, also in my private environment." _ says Macha Gietelink, lifestyle coach and sports instructor. And collaborator of the Health Check team of Simple Check.
Hence, our knowledge and support does not stop at our health check van. We go further. We offer so much more, but all from the same thought; how do we make people experience for themselves how nice it is to be able to take good care of yourself? How do we get people moving in the right way? In a way that suits them. Customization, in other words. That is why we teach our Health Check Team coaching skills. So that they know where the bottlenecks, uncertainties or needs lie. And so they can advise everyone with the right attention and support about the possible next steps to take towards a healthy lifestyle.
The training focused on personal development and coaching skills is based on DISC, among other things. DISC provides a clear and understandable overview of the often complex reality of people and their behavior. Why, for example, do some people resist change while others seek it out? Why do certain people always take the lead while others prefer to follow? Or why are some people so flexible while others are attached to procedures? DISC provides insight into why we do what we do. It is therefore about recognizing behavior and underlying mechanisms, both in yourself and in others. We all have different layers that shape us as human beings. These influence us and determine how we think, how we feel, and how we behave. In addition, we have norms and values, beliefs, and motivations that drive our behavior/actions. This behavior can drain our energy, but it can also give us energy, bring us joy, and add color to our lives. Understanding your own personality and that of others helps you maintain your energy level and helps you better understand, recognize, and know how to deal with others.
"Disc is a model based on four personality types, indicated by four colors. Each color stands for a certain preferred behavior. This gives you a clear picture of your strengths and what energizes you. Which behavior fits you naturally and which behavior do you show now under the influence of your current (work) environment?"
This training and coaching is part of our sustainable employability policy for our employees. And your company can benefit from this too. Because, as always, it's a win-win situation: our desire and motivation to promote a sustainable policy is not only interesting for our employees, but also for your employees! After all, who doesn't benefit from personal development? Ultimately, everyone wants a vital and healthy lifestyle, right? Making choices that suit you, based on a solid balance and resilience. That's what we do it for. Both for our employees and yours.
Simple Check specializes in conducting Preventive Medical Examinations. This allows us to provide insight into the health of employees and raise awareness about healthy living. We also support and facilitate any follow-up steps that may be necessary to ensure the long-term employability of employees.
All this is supported digitally. In a specially developed portal created by Johan BV, all employees can gain insight into their physical and mental health via a highly secure personal health dashboard. This 'sustainable employability portal' offers the employee the possibility to work on a healthy lifestyle in a focused and motivated way and offers the employer and/or HRM the possibility to facilitate this through customized or delivered content aimed at sustainable employability.
