  1. Target group and type of organization:
    • Public and semi-public organizations such as municipalities, provinces, educational institutions and social partners.
    • Sometimes private organizations, non-profits and businesses are also eligible, depending on the specific call.
  2. Project objectives:
    • The project must contribute to ESF objectives such as improving access to the labor market, promoting sustainable employability, and fostering social inclusion.
    • Specific themes may vary from one grant call to another, such as workforce training, combating youth unemployment or integrating disadvantaged groups.
  3. Geographic location:
    • The project must be carried out within the EU member state providing the grant, in this case the Netherlands.

    • Willingness to participate in evaluations and audits by ESF grant awarding agencies.
    • Deploy measurement tools to assess project progress and effectiveness.
  9. Innovation and added value:
    • Projects that introduce innovative approaches or expect to have a significant impact may be prioritized.
    • Collaboration with other organizations or stakeholders can be seen as an asset.
  10. Specific conditions per call:
    • Each grant call may contain additional or different criteria. It is essential to carefully review the specific terms and conditions of the particular call.

Why is investing in sustainable employability important?

Investing in sustainable employability goes beyond simply taking advantage of the ESF subsidy. It is a strategic choice that not only contributes to the vitality of employees, but also to the resilience and competitive position of your organization. A sustainable employability policy offers numerous benefits: it reduces absenteeism, increases productivity and strengthens employee commitment. Research shows that companies with an active policy on sustainable employability are better prepared for future challenges, such as an aging workforce and technological changes.

By giving employees more control over their own development and health, you create a work environment where people feel valued and perform better. It is not just a matter of profit for the organization, but also of corporate social responsibility. The ESF grant makes it financially feasible to make targeted investments in instruments such as a Preventive Medical Examination (PME), health training and personal development programs.

By deploying these resources, you show as an employer that you value the well-being of your employees, which also has a positive effect on your image as an attractive employer. In short, investing in sustainable employability is not only financially smart, but also essential for a future-proof organization.
