Home > Customer Stories > Customization, even within a fixed package: the RI&E at TTNL
Read how TTNL was able to gain a complete, up-to-date picture of the occupational risks at their new office in Utrecht, even within the "basic" RI&E package.
TTNL provides IT, data, and cloud solutions from a new office in Utrecht. Pure office work, a small team, and a rapidly growing company. Exactly the kind of client where you’d expect a RI&E to be fairly standard. And yet, this project once again clearly demonstrated that no two RI&Es are alike.
TTNL’s previous RI&E was conducted in 2018. Quite a bit has changed since then: the company has moved to a new shared office space, Treehouse in Utrecht, and its workforce has grown significantly. That’s reason enough to take a close look at the risk inventory and evaluation.
TTNL has about 60 employees who fall within the scope of the RI&E, which is just slightly more than the 50 we normally use as the threshold for the “RI&E Klein” package. So, on paper, it was just a bit too big. But in practice, it worked out just fine:
This is a great example of how our packages serve as a useful starting point, but the final approach is always tailored to each client’s needs. The package structure provides a framework, but we reassess what each organization truly needs on a case-by-case basis.
“Gert-Jan has become something of a familiar face to us by now. Ever since we first worked together, I’ve been able to offer him a Preventive Medical Examination every time he started a new job, and now he’s also chosen to have the RI&E done at TTNL. I really love seeing that—someone who keeps bringing us along, no matter where he ends up. It’s also great that this process once again showed that we can always tailor our services to what an organization truly needs, even if it falls just outside the standard package.”
Talitha Rijken
Sustainable Employability Advisor, Simple Check
Our RI&E specialist took charge of the process and followed the standard procedure that is part of every RI&E:
Based on this, a report was written that outlined clear findings and specific action items, ranging from further developing the occupational health and safety policy to expanding the use of sit-stand desks and establishing an employee representative body.
Across the board, TTNL appears to be in good shape: low absenteeism due to illness, a positive work culture, and a modern, flexible work environment. The main areas for improvement were not so much related to the physical workplace as they were to policy: further refining the occupational health and safety policy, establishing clear reporting procedures, and training managers to recognize psychosocial stress in the workplace.
A great next step in this process: TTNL has indicated that it would like Simple Check to conduct the Preventive Medical Examination next year as well. In this way, we’ll continue to work together to build a comprehensive picture of the team’s long-term employability.
