Stay healthy at work, 8 tips that are inspiring

We want to live as healthy a life as possible. We try to breakfast with superfoods, prepare meals without packets and are more aware of the effect of sports activities. Health apps such as: the Pedometer, MyFitnessPal and Running Apps are also indispensable on many smartphones. Living healthier is a hot topic especially in the private sphere, but also in the workplace you can improve your lifestyle in the simplest way. In this blog we give you some tips to help you be healthy in the workplace.

This is how you stay healthy at work

Come to yourself regularly

We want to deliver high quality work quickly and frequently. We have high demands, which brings (high) work pressure. Too much stress works against you. Relaxation is the key to success here!

  1. Provide plenty of relaxation. In your free time, for example, go to the spa for a day, read a good book or spend time with family. While at work, for relaxation, have your cup of coffee or tea in a quiet place other than your desk.
  2. Put yourself first. By not meeting up too often in the evening and not taking your work home with you, the moments after work are moments for yourself.

Keep it simple

Getting a lot out of your day does not mean that you have to run and fly or fill your head with various tasks. A productive day mainly means working in a structured and focused way. Don't get too busy, but make it as easy as possible for yourself. You'll get a lot more done that way.

  1. Think positive. By assuming the positive, you create a relaxed attitude that helps you get back on track after a setback.
  2. Don't try to be perfect. By striving for the optimum rather than perfection, you work toward the outcome with positive energy and don't ask too much of yourself.

Eat healthy!

Products with enough protein: legumes, nuts, salads, fresh vegetables and fresh fruits increase your energy level. With these products, the after-lunch dip is a thing of the past.

  1. A varied lunch is healthy and delicious!
Salads: fresh, nutritious, and healthy! Try to eat a salad twice a week at lunchtime. The nutritious ingredients mentioned above are an ideal basis for a delicious lunch!
Soups: easy, light, and full of (fresh) vegetables! Make a large pot of soup with fresh vegetables, divide it into small containers, freeze it, and take it with you to work. Did you know that soup from a packet can sometimes contain as many as 15 sugar cubes?
  2. Enjoy snacks

Treating yourself to a healthy snack every two to three hours keeps your blood sugar level even, your energy level up and prevents the hunger pangs that often lead to unhealthy "snacking. You would think that sugars and carbs are out of the question, but natural sugars and carbs (carbohydrates) are the basis for optimal performance. Healthy snacks are:

Choose 2 snacks for a week and you can alternate for weeks.

  • Carrots with hummus! Everyone loves these mini carrots: fresh carrots that are also great with drinks (with or without dip).
  • Dried fruit, extra dark chocolate, or unsalted nuts: a healthy choice during cocktail hour, but also at any time of the day. Full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
  • A bowl of yogurt with fresh fruit or unsalted nuts: Brazil nuts, walnuts, apple slices, or raspberries in your yogurt. That will get you through the day.

Challenge yourself!

By setting goals, you tap into new sources of energy. You get more desire to work, to keep going longer and to work harder. In addition, the results give you a huge adrenaline boost. You feel happy, productive and fulfilled.

  1. Determine your goal. Make a list of things you want to achieve and number your wishes in order of importance. Number 1 is your mission! Make it concrete and get started.
  2. When you have achieved your goal, treat yourself. After weeks of blood, sweat, and tears, you deserve to reward yourself for the great work you have done.
